I just installed an old Tekram DC-315U PCI Ultra SCSI Host adapter in an HP a1110n Pavillion.

Connected to the SCSI host is a Canon DR-3060 (Scanner).

This PC is running Windows XP. It discovered the SCSI host adapter and I installed the drivers I located for it. The same goes for the Canon Scanner.

Whenever I dry to send a command to the scanner, the scanner makes a noise like it is preparing to work AND THEN the whole PC locks up. The mouse won't work, I cannot activate or disable the Num, Caps, or Scroll lock lights. It forces me to do a hard reboot.

Does this symptom sound like a driver error? Can you offer any resolutions?

Thanks for the reply. Everything does auto-detect. Though, I did have to select which drivers for it to install. I am 90% positive that I selected the correct driver for the adapter and the scanner.

The software that monitors the scanner accurately detects the ID of the scanner and detects whenever it is connected or disconnected.
