Hi all, this is my first post here so I hope this doesn't get asked daily. Anyway, I'm looking to build my first computer and all of the premade machines on various sites I've looked at are lacking something I will not do without (crappy graphics card, comes w/vista...you get the idea). So I'd like to build a machine that has decent graphics capability for gaming on the fairly tight budget of $500 to 700.

Other than price I'm looking for space to expand ram and graphics eventually. I can afford the basics now and will be upgrading as cash allows. Anyway thanks for whatever assistance you can give!

After searching a bit I came up with these parts though I can't figure out a good mobo/processor and I'm sure that there are better (cheaper) parts to be filled here.

Have Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor/Optical Drive

Would this be box only? or do you need keyboard/mouse and monitor? do you need an operating system?

Have any old hard drives or dvd drives that can be reused?

I have a DVD drive and Keyboard/Mouse and I just bought a new monitor. Other than those I'll need everything. I'd like to be able to use my old hard drive simply for shifting the information from the old box to the new one but considering how much noise it's making the part isn't long for this world.

Thanks for the reply, a few questions though, first will that PSU be able to handle future upgrades like a second video card with only 430w? And the one major thing I'm looking for is graphics capability is it worth it to save $60~ for the cheaper graphics card or just get something better initially?

before you edited post, budget was $500
if you could spend up to $700

change memory to 4GB
power supply to at least 500 watts, the one hefemeister suggested is good
upgrade video card to HD 5770 like hefemeister suggested

430w can probably handle 2 HD 4670s
but if you have the funds, grab the HD 5770, which will blow the HD 4670 outta the water

Ok here's what I'm thinking so far...$623+S/H (like to save more but you get what you pay for...)
