overclocking problems

hey guys i been having problems overclocking my intel core 2 duo e6600
i am using setfsb ..... i would get it up to 2.5ghz from 2.4 and my cpu would crash help would be great thanks.

and here is my system
-coolermaster storm scout atx gaming case
-intel core 2 duo e6600 @2.4ghz
-intel dp965lt
-galaxy geforce gts 250
-coolermaster 650watt psu
-seagate barracuda 320gb hdd
-liteon 22x dvd-ram drive

I would start by doing some small overclocking via your bios versus to use of a program.
