Is there anything separate I need to buy in order to get it to work with my motherboard?
Also, can you explain how brackets work, or at least provide a link (I find the lack of information about after market coolers to be slightly annoying).

Also, is there any advantage to getting a 540 over the 530 in terms of overclocking potential? So far I haven't heard that there is any particular difference other than it being the same piece of silicon, just clocked down.

You wanna grab something like this:

Newegg.com - XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks
with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233038

I cant say if its gonna fit or not though.

EDIT: The bracket pack allows it to work with the 1156 socket, and instead of using intel push pins which (if you can) want to avoid at all costs, you pretty much align the cooler up, then just tighten the screws until its tight. Makes it very simple.

EDIT2: There will be very little if any difference between the 530 and 540. Its only $20 so you may as well...

Here's a link to the installation guide for the Arctic Cooling Heatsink.
http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/images/installation_Freezer_7_Pro_Rev_2.pdf

The Heatsink comes with Thermal Paste pre-applied so none is necessay. If, however, you need to take it off for some reason then it's nice to have some good paste handy.
Newegg.com - Tuniq TX-2 Cooling Thermal Compound - Thermal Compound / Grease

The 540 will have a higher Multiplier. It might help and it might not. It's a $20 option, if you got the cash I say go for it.
