Hello, I currently have a Dell Xps 720 and am looking to purchase more ram. I currently have two 1 gb sticks filling 2/4 of the slots and was thinking about purchasing two 2gb sticks to fill the remaining 2 slots, however, I am unsure whether I can use two 1gb sticks and two 2gb sticks or if I can only use either four 1gb sticks or four two gb sticks. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-8500,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*

what speed is your current ram? If you do not know cpuz will tell you. CPUID

Max memory is 8gb so you could use all 6gb keeping in mind the ram will only run as fast as your slowest stick installed. Also keep in mind in order to use more than 3.5gb of ram you will need to have a 64bit OS installed. You can install more ie 4gb but windows will not be able to use all of it.

It already arrived, however, I can return it with a 20% restocking fee, would that be worth doing do you think?
