I'm thinking about buying a high-performance laptop, but I'm also concerned about battery life.
Does anyone know about how long the battery will go with the i7, compared to the normal dual cores?

I still remember that i7 Eurocom one that had a 1 hour 12-cell battery.

All things equal the i7 will suck more battery juice than a dual core. As the above poster put that isn't the only determinate of battery life. Other things that suck up power as well as what you are doing on the computer will also determine how much battery life you are going to get.

You can easily save battery life by tweaking the operating system.

Very basic stuff, like using msconfig to decrease running processes, setting anti virus to no back ground scans, turning off system restore, indexing and going through the service list and disabling what you don't use or need.

Easiest thing to do is just google some W7 tweaking guides.

And don't do spyware/virus scans or defrag while not on AC power..
