I am looking to buy a LCD monitor for a relative. I am either going to buy her a new 19" monitor or I am going to buy a new 23" or bigger monitor for myself and give her the one I am using now which is a 19" WS Hanns G JW199D.

Right now she is using a 17" CRT and if she looks at it to long, it starts giving her a headache.

Here are a couple of 19" for the relative:
Newegg.com - ASUS VW198T Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 3000:1(1000:1) Built-in Speakers - LCD Monitors

Newegg.com - Hanns·G HX-191DPB Black 19" 5ms LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built-in Speakers - LCD Monitors

I don't know if I want to get her widescreen or not. Widescreens are cheaper than standard. She does not watch any movies or play any games, well not demanding games. She mainly plays card games and Microsoft Word stuff. The budget for would be $150 or less.

One thing I am going to get is one with built in speakers for her.

Here is a couple of 23" for me:
Newegg.com - LG W2343T-PF Black 23" 5ms Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 30000:1(DC) - LCD Monitors

Newegg.com - ASUS VH235T-P Black 23" 5ms Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 50000 :1 (ASCR) Built-in Speakers - LCD Monitors

Any difference between these two? v

Max budget for me would be $200 or less. Of course the bigger the better. Would my video card be able to handle a monitor this big? I plan on upgrading my video card soon, just don't know what yet. Most likely a DX11 card.

Any better suggestions?

should just get the 23" for yourself :)

and give her your 19"

with the 8800GTS, you might have to turn some settings down @ 1080P with newer titles

That's what I was thinking. Which one would you suggest?

I kind of figured I would have to turn down some settings. I plan on upgrading to a DX11 card like maybe a 5870 sometime soon.
