two computers, one bad HDD one good HDD can I swap?

I have a Documentation where everything works and the I have a Product Specifications HP Pavilion a375c Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English) that works great but the hard drive failed the good one is running XP while the one with the bad HDD was running XP PRO. Now what I want to know is if I can take the HDD from the good computer & replace the bad one so that the better of the two can be used? sorry if all that sounds a lil

i didn't quite understand which computer has which hard drive, but you can switch hard drives no problem, but you'll have to do a fresh install of windows. Just make sure they use the same interface (SATA or IDE). Open up the computers and see if the cables that connect the HDs to the motherboard are the same. The wide grey wires are IDE and the thing (usually orange) wires are SATA.

They are both IDE but I dont have install disks so Im S.O.L. huh?!
