Difference between ATI and Nvidia Graphics.

I'm debating between these two graphics cards. The ATI is cheaper and it has more streaming processors. The Nvidia has faster core and memory clocks. Now, unfortunately I have no idea what streaming processors do so taking all of the above into consideration...which one is better?
 
It performs better in games because of a better architecture, and its manufacturing process makes it cheaper and runs cooler. Keep in mind that these cards compete directly with each other.
 
They are a type of processor used in GPUs for alot of parallel processing, much more simple than the cores in a CPU.

But you can't compare Nvidia to ATI cards in this way because they use two different stream processor types. The only way to measure which is best is through real world benchmarks.
