Cache really important for gaming?

I might get a budget gaming rig someday and my possible processor options are a E3200 or a E5200.

Does the cache affects that much on gaming?

(It will be only for gaming, I have a regular PC for normal stuff.)

processor cache is pretty-much important for everything --it acts as ram directly stored in the cpu, as to allow access speeds unimaginable with regular ram. so the more you have, the faster graphics will render

Short Answer = More Cache, Better Performance.

Ive got the E5200 , it's not too bad on some stuff I play but has its limits.
Yes, more cache seems to help . the e5200 when I bought it for $ 65.00 was a good
choice for my budget gaming pc at the time. Ithink you might be able to find something bit better at the moment though for a budget game rig.

There are not large differences in cache between cpu's.

If you buy a CPU you normally compare architecture over cache and clock speeds.
