Ok, i know the abit av8 3rd eye is a REAL good one, i was wondering if there are any that are better than taht one.

Thanks

Suppose it would depend on what options you want. I've also heard the Abit is real good. MSI is also a good stable brand. I've personally never had troubles with it and I've known atleast 2 people with the MSI Neo2-Platinum that have had no problems/complaints with it and I'm building a computer for a guy that's going to be using the MSI board. About all I can suggest :D Personally I HATE ASUS though, you'll find they have terrible technical support and I just don't think their quality is what it once was.

Abit has recently released the AX8 with the K8T890 North Bridge (PCI-E).

The K8T890 PRO will soon be released (which supports SLI).

if ur lookin for something with agp and not one of the newer ones coming out with pci-e then i suggest u look at those.. theyre in order of my most favorite and recomended to least recomended (the ones higher up are the most recomended and as u get lower and lower i recomend them less and less... well u get the picture :) ) lol... and i didnt even include asus in there cuz i HATE them as well... so asus isnt even comparable lol.. good luck :)

PS. just as a side note i was wondering when there will actually be a card out that fully utilizes pci-e? i know that even the newest x800 pros pci-e versions dont full utilize the interface.. ive heard that the 6800 GPUs are coming out in pci-e but i was just curious will they fully utilize the capabilities of the pci-e interface?

The next line of cards will be released in early 2005. They will take full advantage of PCI-E's features, but not speed.

It will be a while until video cards can operate that fast.

aight tahnks guys, the question now is if i should wait for pcie, it will be VERY expensive no?

ohh, interesting. maybe il wait a bit. il see, my pc is really starting to piss me off! So for like a 6800 pcie, how much will it cost? same as the 6800 gt?

depends because they'd probably have various PCI-E versions of the cards just like in AGP, meaning they got the 128mb , the GT, and the Ultra, they'll probably have the same regarding PCI-E although I'm not saying this is dead set in stone fact. More than likely the PCI-E will be atleast $50 more expensive than the AGP equivelants.
