Intel Pentium 4 560 3.60GHz LGA 775, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache Processor w/ Hyper Threading Technology (Prescott core)

OR

Intel Pentium 4/ 3.4C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K L2 Cache, Hyper Threading Technology (Northwood core)

Which is faster? Especially for video editing, if that makes a difference. Also, I plan to OC on an ABIT board with nice air cooling.

My god, you can still get Intel Pentium 4/ 3.4C CPUs. Anything Pentium Non-Prescott in an impossibilty down here.

The Intel Pentium 4 560 3.60GHz LGA 775, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache Processor w/ Hyper Threading Technology is the fast of the two.

Video editing depends more on the video card? Are you kidding me????

The video card only matters for playback man.... Is your 6800 gonna be encoding and transcoding for you? I doubt it.

On a seperate note, newegg doesnt offer an Abit board for the 775 cpu. So maybe if I OC'd the 3.4 it would surpass the 3.6?

he's right apokalipse. video editing is dependent on memory and processor.
playback/gaming is dependent on the card.

That is an option, but I would still prefer the Prescott over the Northwood:confused:
