Hi Yall nice forums u got here really like it.

I am a newb in building pc's. All i basically know is how to put the parts back to where they were and if they are compatible aswell. So I my friend wants to build a computer and i promised i will help him. here is a list of stuff we will get. I would just like to ask several questions and get some nice answers before we order these products or else we might buy them and turns out they dont work with each other :=\.

Okay so here they are.

Newegg.com - XFX GX260XAWFC GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards GPU

Newegg.com - hec X-Power Pro 650 650W Continuous @ 40°C ATX 12V v2.2 / EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply - Power Supplies Power supply

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - Desktop Memory Ram

Newegg.com - ECS BLACK SERIES P45T-A LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards Mother Board

Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops CPU

Basically i think that these will work altogether. I think that the power supply is good enough.
Just worrying about that it has pci connectors which is 1x6 pin and the other one is 1x6+2 pin, will that effect anything? or should we find a power supply that has just 2 x 6 pins o_O For the video card we need 1x6 and 1x6 so will the 1x6+2 effect it at all o_O? or am i getting something wrong here?

Can u guys give me some help? our limit is 600$ so i tried to get a decent build. Basically this computer is suppose to only run World Of Warcraft online and thats it.

Well i hope i can get some help

Thanks for even spending time reading my newby questions :p

Hey welcome to tech-forums to start you off lets look at these parts:

Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Newegg.com - BIOSTAR A785GE AM2+/AM3 AMD 785G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

SO far for those 2 parts it is at 169.00

Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Newegg.com - Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory Model KVR667D2/1GR - Desktop Memory (get 2 for 52.00)

Now it is currently at 280.00

This power supply should handle your video cards current needs.
Newegg.com - Rosewill RP550-2 550W ATX12V v2.01 Power Supply - Power Supplies
Now I'll stop at this point and let some one else take over

That is grand total of 322.00 mind you almost all of the parts have free shipping so I tried to factor that in for you since you will be ordering a very huge box with parts in them from newegg.com.

is your budget of $600 for the tower only? or is that including an OS, monitor, keyboard/mouse, etc.?

for the power supply, no it doesnt matter if it has a 6+2 pin pcie connection. it is designed to fit in both 6 pin and 8 pin connections, so if you just need to use 6 pins, you can just slide off the extra 2 pins at the end of the connector, nothing to worry about :)
