I don't know if this is the right thing to check
but max output is 300w

Also, there is already an internal fan :O

you shouldnt reuse the power supply from the hp if thats what you were planning. i wouldnt get all new hardware while still keeping that generic crap power supply, spend the extra and upgrade it, you dont need a super high wattage one either. if youre gonna buy from newegg.ca, get the antec 430 i linked before.

it looks like you will be having to pay a good chunk for shipping + taxes from canadian newegg. check this site and see if the total will come out to less including the shipping + taxes.

parts from that site; the cpu, mobo, ram are the same ones, the gfx card is the same model just different brand, and a different power supply.
cpu Intel Core I5 750 Quad Core Processor Lynnfield LGA1156 2.66GHZ 8MB Cache Retail Box - DirectCanada
mobo Gigabyte P55M-UD2 mATX LGA1156 P55 DDR3 2PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 RAID Sound GLAN Motherboard - DirectCanada
ram G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ PC3-12800 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - DirectCanada
gfx card Powercolor Radeon HD PCs 4850 625MHZ 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E VGA DVI-I HDMI Video Card - DirectCanada
psu Bfg GS-550 550W Power Supply Atx V2.2 EPS12V Active Pfc 20/24PIN 6PIN & 8PIN PCI-E 140MM Fan - DirectCanada

or check this site too. NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection.

im just trying to see if using a different site will save you a couple bucks.

Cool :D
Thanks a lot for all your time
It costs $600 shipped and tax included

I was wondering though, is it possible to upgrade some of those parts for an extra $20 or something, I'm looking more towards the video card.

I'd like to play L4d lag free unlike on my laptop ):

My local store is having a sale.
I'm planning to get these things, can you guys tell me if they would be compatible

I'm going for the 275 cause it's on sale for $150 at my local store
And the 700W PSU is $40 on sale also.

I'm also thinking of getting 8GB ram (G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) X 2)
Also, I'm thinking of getting this case NEWEST PC/ COMPUTER CASE+DISPLAY+FILTERS+WARRANTY+MORE+ on eBay.ca (item 320345146052 end time 31-Dec-09 21:00:00 EST)
Would that gigabyte mobo fit in it? :O

And another quick question
Is it better to have 2x1TB HD or just a 2tb hd.

i know im going way over my budget now :p
I'm planning to switch the i5 to an i7 920. Doing so, all the parts would still be compatible right? :O

Switching to an i7 920 is not possible with some of your parts...

First off the i7 is a different socket type than the i5 so that means it won't fit into your MB.
Second... i7 MB's use triple channel memory (3 x 2gig sticks) so your memory won't work either.
The 275 will fit as well as the 700W PSU.
Question for you with the HD... what are you going to be storing on it? 2x1TB in Raid would be faster but you have the chance that all your data could be lost if one drive dies...

Overall, if you want to get an i7 just wait and I would go that route... look for combo deals and save money. On the other hand the build you have listed is pretty good though you won't be able to use the MB and RAM if you want to upgrade to an i7...

Oh ok, I'm fine with not having the i7 then. It would just be an overkill for me :p
Do you know if my mobo would fit into that case? I don't know if it's universal that all mobos fit in all cases or what cause they don't really give a description that I can compare. If the case is good, I think I'm set :D
Thanks.

Also about the 2TB, I don't think it's necessary anymore, I just got greedy since I won't even be using that much.
I was just gonna use it to share files/folder for my home network
