updated!

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum. I am planning on building my first computer and i have picked out the parts already. I was hoping somebody was able to tell me if the parts i have chosen are compatible and if this will be a good rig to play games on. Suggestions on cutting down cost are appreciated. I will most likely be playing mmorpgs and Starcraft 2 when that comes out. Thanks in advance.

This board says 5 sata 3.0 slots, but I'm having a hard time locating them in the picture? Nevermind, I see 4 of them are stacked and facing foward. Anyway, what will you be using for a cd\dvd burner?

thanks for the prompt replies.

epicrussian - thanks for the suggestion, but the board doesn't support my AMD CPU.

farinha - my budget is $1000, a little over is fine

septic - i figured i'd just get any nice rated DVD/CD drive on newegg.com since i haven't had any issues with them before or will i be better off with a more expensive one? any suggestions>

Any $30 dvd-burner should be fine. Just get a good brand name like lite-on, samsung, asus, or LG.

for that price range, i would go with an i5 cpu over the phenom ii.

Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
and a mobo to support it, will also support dual gfx cards should you want to in the future.
Newegg.com - ASUS P7P55D PRO LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

also, you really wont need a 2gig gfx card, a better gpu will give you more performance than just more memory. for around the same price, i would get this instead.
Newegg.com - XFX HD-489X-ZSFC Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

just wanna ask why i5 than phenom 955? coz other people kept sayin
phenom has a better quality in term of gaming.
