Wireless audio with bluetooth dongle?

I bought a pair of Motorola Stereo headphones from New Egg on Black Friday. They operate either from bluetooth or you can use them wired. I wanted to use them with my HP DV2120us Laptop w/ Win XP Media edition. Unfortunately my laptop doesn't have bluetooth, I thought it did. Will adding a bluetooth dongle allow me to receive audio from the laptop, or is there more to it than that. Also will any bluetooth adapter send audio in stereo. Yes, that will work.

It'll send the audio as whatever it is. If the audio is mono, it'll get there as mono, if it's stero, then stereo
