9800 GX2

Hi there everyone im new here,

Not sure if this is in the right section, so i apologise if it needs to be moved.

Last saturday i was hungover and decided to sit on my arse playing games all day. So i fired up Empire Total War only to have my G-card die on me (either one of the cores has gone, or my mate reckons its the graphics memory). I got in contact with BFG and filed for an RMA, which they very helpfully have done and are sorting out now. So iv sent them my Geforce 9800 GX2, and my question is what will i get as a replacement do you think, seeing as the 9800 has been discontinued?

Most likely a GTX260 or GTX275. It's performance is in-between those two, IIRC.

if they dont send you a 9800GX2 then it could be something like a GTX 280, GTX 260, or a GTX 275.

kinda hoping they might just chuck a 295 my way but i doubt it

A 260 would be a downgrade. You'll get at least a 275.

If you DO get a 260, make sure you kick up a **** of a fuss and ask for a 295. I doubt they'll send you a 260, but anyway.

Our neighbours 42" plasma died on them, and because the series was discontinued they got a 50" replacement
