Anyways, i know he doesn't need a monitor, but all the other computers with similar specs are similarly priced and without a monitor, so why not just get a monitor?

In that price range the one aliasaid linked is about as good as it gets value wise for a prebuilt.

Not a powerhouse but perfect for your needs. Unfortunately it is hard to build for that price.

thank you both for the suggestion and i'm sorry for the confusion i caused. i won't make that mistake again. i picked that up while searchin the web today( i think!). i checked it out and it does look like it will serve my needs. thanks again for the advice!!
