Windows service pack

I cannot install service packs.
I heard its possible to change some files manually.
Does anybody know some good sites wich explain how to do this?

yeah, i'm sure you can get an iso version from a good p2p....my friend has a copy thats has been recopied and passed around and all who had it were able to do updates....hmmmm....have to look into this with them......get back to ya on that.
