What all drives do I need?

Ive been reading a lot about PC building lately, and excited about building my own. My question is, Ive seen plenty of builds and all that good stuff but dvd/cd drives are never mentioned. Are they included with something else or are they needed to be bought separate too?

They need to be bought separately and aren't usually mentioned is that they are relatively cheap and the differences between them relatively small.

ok thank you. So is a dvd/cd drive the same thing? or are they 2 different pieces of hardware

DVD drives can use CDs and DVDs. CD drives cannot use DVDs so be careful not to get one of these.
