gaming laptop suggestions...

im due to deploy (royal navy) early next year, what sort of specs/laptop should i be looking to aim toward. needs to be able for me to watch vids, listen to music, an play games such as latest football manager/total war series/civilization etc..
i can probably muster about £1200 but would like to spend much less than that if possible.
your tips/advice would be greatfully appreciated
