preventing necroposting: auto close after 3 months

In the event of the OP wanting to reopen a thread, the OP can contact a mod to post in it and reopen it.

Even by knowing I don't have a say in this, I'll throw out my opinion anyway:

It's a nice feature I can honestly say I've never thought of before and it of course, as most other suggestions has its up and down arguments. Though, 3 months does sound old. Necroing a 2 months old thread is annoying by itself. If this feature will ever become an option, I would support it to have a limit at 2 months. 1 month isn't really too much and 3 months is just being too nice.

It already is in place and it will stay at 3 months. 2 months is too short.

My bad then for not knowing. Does this make necroing 3 months old okay? Unless they are obvious irrelevant and uninteresting though.

Nope it makes it impossible . Only SMods and Admins will be able to post in them. Mods as well in their respective forums. If you'd like a thread 3 months or older opened again PM one of us with a reason and we'll open it.

Wow, even better. Although It thought the staff with access to moderate that specific forum had access to post in locked threads either way.
