$600 build that will play borderlands

Hey, anyone have any good ideas for a $600 full build that will play borderlands? A friend asked me to build one and I wanted some recommendations

by full, you mean like tower, monitor, keyboard+mouse, OS? anything that hed be able to reuse?

I'll take care of the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS. Thats about all he can reuse.

$125 - Gpu: - HD 4870 512 MB (shouldn't need 1GB of VRAM until 1920x1200)
$100 - Ram: - 4GB G.skill PI Black (just less than a year ago this ram was $50, disgusting)
$65 - HDD: - 750 GB 7200 rpm 32 MB Cache
$55 - PSU: - Antec 500W
$29 - DVD RW: - Yeah
$40 - Case: - Cooler Master 330

thx druid, that looks like a good build to me. Its ashame I didn't keep all the ddr2 I had lying around, $100 for that Ram is kind of annoying.

A few of your items are sold out and stuff, so I picked a cheaper 4850 and a different HDD for him. Other then that everything else looks good.

Yea, I was happy with it but it was sold out It's alright, I might give him my old accelero s1 rev2 and vmod his 4850 for him if he lets me Either way he can still easily play borderlands.

Borderlands played great on my 3850 256MB, so a 4850 should fly with it.

Yeah, a 4850 will easily handle it.
