Hi all,
Went shopping this weekend with my brother, as he's interested in buying a new PC. Some of the models he's looking at (including one with an i7 chip) have video cards with DVI connections but no HDMI. Here's what we're wondering: if in the future he decides to add a Blu-Ray player to his computer, can the HD video signal be passed through the DVI connection? And, if so, how would he route the sound? (I figure since HDMI carries both video and sound we'd have to find a workaround with DVI to get the audio signal out -- but the hook-up would likely be to a computer display and separate, external speakers, not to a television.)
I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice.
