Can I beat this laptop for the price?

Its about time I cash in my cows and purchase a desktop replacement laptop I am looking to spend around a grand and I cannot seem to find a more awesome deal. It's Gateway so I was a bit surprised but I was looking at these two.

and this one with a better hdd and cpu but worse graphics card.

I can get the first one for $1050 off Bestbuy which is looking pretty good.

If it was between those two, I would personally go for the first, and buy my own hdd. You can pick up a 500gb 7200rpm for about 110us.

Yeah I was debating between 15" and 17" but since it is going to be a desktop replacement and I am used to having a big screen I think I am going to go with the 17"

You can always use external monitor.

Just make sure if your going to do 1920*1080 you use dvi/hdmi. It looks like trash when you push that high of a resolution from VGA

What do you folks suggest think this is the Desktop killer I been looking for? I am worried the decals on the back might be twisting my perception a bit.
