So i was going to have a friend build it for me.. But I think it will be a good challenge if I did it.

My limit is 2000 dollars I'm looking to build a great gaming comp.. But I know little to none about the hardware/software.

If anyone could help me out with a sweet setup I would greatly appreciate it! Preferrably from newegg.

And is there much difference between the intel i7 and the top amd CPU? I'm wondering why intel is so expensive.. But amd top card is more powerful? No idea ha.. But yea huge on gaming! Thx
guys.

I don't do AMD but from what I've heard, AMD's top processor can't stand up to even the Core i5 750 processor. Anyway, if you are going to have a 2000 dollar budget (guessing that's in USD) you could get quite good parts. Here's what I think. Search these stuff on Newegg or something.

CPU - Intel Core i7 920 (or wait for the 930 next year cos the other Bloomfields are going to be discontinued very soon)

MB - ASUS P6T DeLuxe ( from what I heard it's pretty good)

RAM - Corsair DDR3 6GB (3x2GB) 1066Mhz Kit

GPU - ATI Radeon HD 5850 (CrossfireX ?)

That's around $1000 maybe, I can't think of anything else to boost up the quality at the moment lol.

He could get the HD5870 since he has the money. Regarding the RAM, if you're planning to overclock, buy the 1600MHz ones.

i7 920
EVGA E758 or EVGA E760 if you plan to extreme OC.
3x2GB OCZ Platinum DDR3-1600
5870
Intel X-25M 80GB SSD
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Corsair 850TX or 950TX

Ok thx, I don't know really anything about over clocking.. But I would like a really good video card, nvidia sounds apealing? But don't know much about it either ha. And thx I think I'll stick with the intel i7 anymore setups would be appreciated I'm pretty much ordering what u guys put down thx again.. Nervous//anxious

if you want a good video card from nvidia then wait till january when they release the GT 300 series, and grab one of those.

ok so after adding.removing parts this is what i have now come up with
instead of going for the 750 watt.. i hear if ur over clocking.. or looking to upgrade more u need a 1k power supply? so i added that in the list just incase i upgrade more.

Im not sure of a computer case to get tho :/ let me know how this setup works!
