Hi, i have IBM netfinity 3000 and it's not booting from CD's. I cheked in the bios if there's an option to boot from USB but there's not! I will realy apricate if someone will help me.
Possibly a damaged CD then. Try to boot to a different CD, a linux distro if you don't already have something else and if that won't work then it could be a damaged drive - try a floppy disk.
Just borrow the optical drive from your main machine and yes you will have to go back into the bios of the netfinity to make sure the new optical is at the top of the boot list.
I tried but it isn't apearing theare. I tried changing the boot thing"the hard drive" with the new dvd rom and it wasn't apering in there. There are just hard drive and flopy.
Is it on the same IDE cable as the HDD? Make sure the CD drive is the master and set the HDD as slave, or better still, remove the HDD until you can boot to the CD.
