This is my current computer,

AMD 64 3000 @ 2.3Ghz (stock is 2 ghz)
Asus Kt8 Mobo
512 MB of PC3200 RAM (getting anothe 512 in a week or two)
80GB ATA 133 HDD ( 60GB left)
Aspire Turbo 520Watt PSU
Nvidia 6800 128MB

some ppl have said that this is a good pc. im not sure, but anyways, how long will this last me? i just built it like 4 months ago but it is started to sound outdated. I plan to build another system in like 2-4 years. Will this one last 2 years at least? when it comes time for the new one which i know im getting cuz i have a bank account set up just for it, what will i be able to make with like $1500-$2500. I have a moniter, but if i can get a 19inch lcd then that would even be better.

yes, at least 4 years I think. My system lastet until about 2 years ago, but now the apps are getting too big.

well, it kinda depends on what u are using it for. for gaming it will only last 3-5 years MAX. for other stuff it will easily last 10 years

i dunno about 4 years actually.. cuz when newer games start comin out.. they are gonna be on DVD-ROMs and takin up from like 5-10GBs.. so u know they are gonna need a NICE GFx Card and a speedy CPU, etc... so it might last for like 2 years... at the rate PC technology updates and comes out with new stuff!! i say 2 years..

maybe i could be wrong!!!

ok so i might need to upgrade but i shouldnt have to build new for like 2-3 years right? thats cool!!!
so what should i put in my new one when i get to build it?

well by that time.. u should be goin Socket 939... GeForce 6800 Ultra.. 1GB PC4000 (512MBx2)... 200GB HD... a fast DVD drive... and by the next 3 years.. those items should be droppin in price pretty good

oh yea.. HAHA.. PCI-E.. slipped my mind.. yea MOST likely ull be goin PCI-E instead of AGP for ur GFx Card!!!
