the 5870s are sold out and that mobo supports triple channel, says in the specs.

wow, i stand corrected. i assumed that since it had 4 slots, it would support dual not triple channel. thats weird though...

Going with the i7 920 like you all recommended. I can always and very likely will upgrade at some point in the future so no need to spend all kinds of money on it now.

I don't do massive OC'ing, just minor stuff so i'll have to change the MOBO, looking at the Asus P6T, it's pretty cheap relativity speaking.

I don't know why but i always end up with ATI cards, i'll keep an eye out for the 300, but 5870 is looking good. Anyone know when more are going to be on the market?

Every week or so its seems. Just set auto-notify and keep checking your e-mails The gt300s won't be out till february soo you won't have to worry about them for a while.

Its worth it to wait and buy the 5870, not much point in spending the same amount of money for lesser, last gen cards.
