ATX12V Needed?

Athlon XP 3200+
Motherboard has a ATX12V connector.

Should I hook up power to the ATX12V, or do the XP cores not need it?

I arent sure, alls i know is that the amd 64 3000+ needs it to be connected!

Ah, I have got XP 3000+, and It work with and without, so i guess it doesnt matter
