Question about Reinstalling OS, etc....

that's not 100% true. because i have a dell XP restore disc and i have installed XP on several non dell pc's even a custom built one.

I'm just saying that it has been my experience. I've tried doing so on a few HP's and Dells and the restore disk didn't help. It gave an error saying that the exact same model number of computer had to be used in order to install the OS.

All Anti Virus apps fail from time to time.. especially the free versions (sniker) The only one that has worked flawless for me is Panda.. but it is agressive it will kill any warez ware on your machine.. ie, key gens, patchers.. etc.. they have a free version now too and I have tested for a few months now and no viruses have slipped by yet..
