I formatted my HD's and made some new partitions with PQmagic. Previously my XP Pro was running on a 5400 disk and now it is running on a 7200 disk. The 5400 is max UDMA2 (33Mb/s PATA33) and the 7200 is max UDMA4 (66Mb/s PATA66).

It is a little faster but I noticed that both drives are running at UDMA2.

So this means the slowest drive determines the transfer speed even if one HD is connected to IDE0 and the other to IDE1?

no a 40, i know i need a 80 cable for umda66 and upwards, but it should still work @ 66 if I unplug the 33 disk rite?
