CD/DVD drive not showing up

Help! My computer's CD/DVD drive is not showing up. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a thinkpad w500.

Did it come with a CD to install the drivers? If not try to search for the drivers on the internet and copy them to a flash drive.

Also check your IDE, SATA cables and power supply cable to make sure they're all properly connected. If you turn on your PC and you're CD Rom drive's light turns on and opens, you know the power supply cord is has been connected correctly. If it doesn't show up on My Computer it's usually something to do with the SATA/IDE cables or the drivers.

If none of those solutions work, try going into device manager and scanning for hardware changes.
