Currently getting back up to speed on all this stuff in preparation for a new build. I can either go with the 920 for $200 processor/$170 motherboard, or 860 for $230processor/$140 motherboard, both combos costing the same, and all other components would be identical, so the only difference in price would be triple channel memory (6GB) vs dual channel memory (4GB) making the 860 system marginally cheaper. I'm sure I could find a cheaper motherboard for the 860, but I'm trying to stay away from microATX or anything that has a habit of being delivered DOA.
From the benchmarks I have seen, the 860 scores higher than the 920 on all but a couple of tests, but only scores marginally higher for the most part which the 920 should overcome with even the slightest overclocking. But then the 860 consumes 20-30 watts less that the 920 which is a plus for me, but not a deal breaker or anything.
At this point I'm stuck, trying to decide between the two setups.
