First Build Help

I'm looking to build my first computer but really don't know where to start. I want to be able to run the latest games like Crysis and other shooters. My price range is pretty flexible. I'm willing to spend anywhere from $800-1300.

I don't think I'll be able to afford the i7 or gtx 295 with this price range but I was thinking about the Radeon HD 5850. I was thinking about crossfiring two eventually. So it would be nice if I could be able to upgrade it down the road. For the processor I really have no idea. What do you guys think about the i5 and Phenom II? Which version would you recommend?

Other than that I really have no idea on the other parts. Just trying to get the best performance for the price. Suggestions?

With that price range you could easily afford an i7 920, it'd be a good investment. Where can you buy from? NewEgg?

I would probably get my parts from newegg. I already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, so don't factor that into the price.
