Video Card Fan Revs up?

Hello all,

I recently bought a 5700LE Geforce 256MB card, and I notice when I start to play a game or do anything graphically intensive the fan seems to kick up and get louder. Is this normal? I was not aware that a fans RPM could be intelligently increased like this to compensate for heat. I just want to be sure the card is operating correctly.

Yes, as the heat increases, so would the fan speed to cool the chipset on the video card. Same with CPU fans.

Btw, for anyone that cares, the 5700LE Geforce fan is LOUD!!!! I'm talking LOUD. I'm going to pop in another case fan and see if the thing settles down a bit if I can keep everything cooler inside. Pretty annoying that even after I exit a game the card runs LOUD for 15-25 minutes. I'm guessing it's a good fan, but did I mention yet that it is LOUD? =)
