Hey guys. About 7 months ago, I dropped my laptop and the screen cracked. Surprisingly, the laptop still worked, and for a while, the screen worked too, it just got cracked. But over time the liquid crystal stuff started leaking through. Long story short, I'm using an external monitor. Now, I've seen prices of replacing a screen from $80 to $600. Besides price and size, what other factors do I need to take into account if replacing the screen is a good thing to do?

How old is this laptop? Normally any thing over 2 or 3 years is not worth it.

Compair the price between what it's going to cost you to replace the exact same laptop vs. replacing the screen.

If it was an entry level laptop, i would not both. However it was some thing medium to high end, then I would think it would be worth your while.
