Im about to buy this build, just looking for some imput from the experts making sure its all compatible, and as i never put together a computer before are there step by step instructions that i could use to make sure everything runs right, mostly stuff in bios.

Also I need a heatsink for the cpu not sure which one to get

None of the links work. What motherboard is it? Besides that everything looks good. And how much do you plan to OC/spend on a heatsink?

I'm kinda tacking on to tomchew's post here, but how is gskill ram? I usually hear people talking bout kingston, corsair, and ocz as 3 of the better brands? also i see mushkin a lot. How are they?

Also on the ram note, you could get the same gskill ripjaw series ram at PC3 12800 speed with better timings for a few dollars more. The ram you chose has CL of 9. For $5 more you could get CL down to 8, and for $9 more you can get CL of 7. all Ripjaw series. Just a thought :)

Everything in your build looks fine to me. G. Skill is a good brand of RAM. And I'd go with apsoul's idea and get the RAM with better timings.

I should be able to crossfire 2 5850s in the future with this build right, or will i need a bigger power unit.

No, your psu isn't good enough and your mobo appears to only have one pci-e slot. That is a definite no.

600W should be enough, but I remember the modxstream series being dodgey in the past.....
(i7 +CF HD 5850s only draw ~470W) 1,2
2 pci-e slot on that board, but one is limited @ 4X which will seriously cripple your second card
