This is my first time building a computer online and this is what I chose
I'm mainly gonna play Source games from valve like Team Fortress 2 and games like CoD4

Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition SP1, 64-Bit
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz - 6 DIMMs
1TB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache
22 inch SX2210 Widescreen Flat Panel with Webcam (the resolution is like 1920 x 1080 right?)
nVidia GeForce GTS 240 1024MB

Well what mb do you have?
how are you getting 8gb or memory with 6 dimms?
The sweet spot for triple channel ddr3 is 6gb 3x2gb. If you have an i7 920 triple channel is what you want.

I would drop the sound card and get a better gpu.

quite over priced for what you are getting. you could easily build a better pc for the same price.

I have seen a CS4, Illustrator, Lightroom combo use up 6gb pretty fast but you are correct that you do not need more than 6gb for the average user.
