That motherboard will serve you fine. ATI/AMD chipsets will run Nvidia cards, as will Nvidia chipsets run ATI/AMD cards (I am doing it right now).

As far as I know, AMD has no plans to change sockets in the near future.

I've changed my mind and I'm going to buy an i5 build. My only question is if the
GSKILL KIT 4GB DDR3 1600MHZ RIPJAW (CL7)
will work with the mobo
ASUS P7P55D.
They're not mentioned in the Asus site but accordingly to the GSKILL they work with this mobo. Has anyone tried this?
