Upgrade!

Ive been looking to upgrade and im stuck on cpu atm whats the difference between the two ??

The first one is slightly faster than the second. Also, as best I can tell at a glance the second has 2MB more cache.

First is the 965 Black, and the second is the 955 Black. As Yami said, the first one is faster but only by 200MHz...which the 955 can easily overclock to, while being cheaper.

The 955 does not have 2MB more cache. That was a mistake on ZZF's part.

So I would suggest the 955, and overclock it.

now how about for my gpu

i dont know why but i really want to run 2 sli

im looking at getting 2 4850's

or would it be more logical to just go and get the 5850/5870 ?

im trying to keep my build as cheap as possible but want the best for my money

It would definitely be more logical to get the 5800 series over CrossfireX HD 4850's..

Two AMD cards together is CrossfireX not SLI.

That board looks solid.

I hope you have DDR3 to go with it though, because you need DDR3.

But at the price we're looking at for this stuff, you could go Core i5 or LGA 1156 Core i7.

ya, a 5850 performs about the same as a 4850x2 so the more logical choice would be to get a 5850.

Its your build, so choose whichever you would like to use better.

We're not going to force you to use anything you don't want to use. But the difference between those in game won't be like something you'd be able to cry over (aka, its not going to be a noticeable difference).
