Ram Pricing

I am looking to upgrade my ram for 2 gig to 4 or 6 gig and I am curious to know if I can expect a price drop in Ram for the upcoming holidays or if the prices are going to stay steady throughout the end of 09?

i went thru his posts, and it seems like he uses DDR2 ram currently

IMHO, the RAM industry is phasing into DDR3 as mainstream, and DDR2 prices will stay as they are as of now

of course, holidays will have sale prices, thus it might it worthwhile to wait for black friday

Clown- you are correct i am using DDR. My fault for not posting that.

I really don't want to upgrade to DDR3 just yet, so I may just have to bite the bullet and pay a lil extra for ram.

if you have 2gigs right now, 2 more gigs will cost you like $25, thats pretty cheap as it is.

Well, the current ram I have right now is the OCZ platinum, I believe it is this one, but with 2 gigs. So I figured I would just buy that so I can just add on to my memory.

What about DDR3 price drops? Anyone heard industry speculation there?

I doubt they will drop very much, since the new 1156 came out they require DDR3 and there is going to be more demand, but less supply. Also prices rose recently because of the faulty DDR3 modules they had to RMA, because I know there was a good amount of those.
