Dell XPS, huge slow down, speakers crackle

Hey all,



I have a Dell XPS M1710 that just slowed waaaay down this morning. It surfs the web fine, but video is choppy and audio makes the speakers crackle.

The only new thing I did was I just bought and used a new power brick. Could it not be getting enough juice?

Do you have the latest drivers for your audio/video. If not i suggest updating them and well work from there.

Updated drivers and it still crackles. The slow down seems to be progressing too. Surfing the web is giving me a headache it's so slow and funky.

Also, just fyi. It crackles with headphones too.

What is the W rating on the new power supply? Is it equal to or greater than the one you took out? If it is not at least equal to the one you took out that could easily be the issue. I would seriously advise not running the system until you make sure that the power supply is at least the same Wattage.

If the PSU (Power Supply Unit) is not sufficent you could seriously damage your system and its components.
