I've just got and set up a new router. On two laptops the wireless works perfectly, but this laptop cannot find the wireless network. When I look at the available networks I can't see our new one and knowing very little about computers really don't have a clue what to do so if anyone can assist me I'd be very grateful!

It's Windows Vista.

Is there anyway I may have tp install any drivers on this computer?

It's now managed to find the network but it's going extremely slow, anyone have any idea what the problem is?

I think PatonB has a good point, I was thinking the same thing in terms of proximity to the router. Are you nearby, or some distance away ?

When it connects to the internet it prompts me to install the router drivers. Is this normal for a laptop on a home network? How would I install the drivers for Windows?

Routers don't have drivers... They are basically a low power limited function computer.

Maybe get a screen shot, use print screen key then paste into a new paint drawing.
