i7 920 D0 vs Phenom 2 965 BE

The i7 may be cheaper than the x4 965, but the cost of the entire system will be more expensive.

That being said, i7 is faster.

No one ever said it was cheaper. The debate is always if the extra price of the i7 is worth the slightly better performance. For gaming: Not really. For cpu intensive tasks: Depends.

And it is over here, like $40 cheaper. Hikari made a good point though, the cost of the whole system will be higher. Gotta wonder why though...

Sorry missed that. At newegg the 920 is $20 more (although microcenter has them for $199). Motherboards and ram are definitely more expensive.

Yea, I've realized if I go the intel route, the system will cost more.........

But after reading that article, i realize my best move is to wait til the LGA1156 comes out.
