Basically I have a folder, it has been checked read only so all the files in it are also read only.

Now the folder contains songs, that I want to change the info of in iTunes but can't due to them being read only.

Every time I uncheck read only, hit apply, it just simply rechecks itself after I'm done. I have full access, so I don't know what to do anymore.

I tried searching the forums, but that didn't seem to do anything, so if this has been answered before please send me to the thread.

Did you upgrade from Vista and had this folder on songs then? If so you may need to take owership.

  1. In Windows 7, Right-click on the drive and click Properties
  2. On the Security tab, click Edit
  3. Click the Add button and enter your username (I entered it in the format "<ComputerName>\<UserName>")
  4. Check the "Allow Full Control" box and click OK.

No, I didn't upgrade from vista.

Also, I just got the songs yesterday, and popped em on iTunes and couldn't edit the info which has led me here heh.
