Well I reinstalled my cpu heatsink, after lapping it for eight hours... and wow temps dropped by 8 to 10C 0.o...

however i am still unsure of the temps (As when I was installing the cpu heatsink, it kept on moving...
but its set now, just check the temps for me =)

---

anyway the minimums are: 36/32/38/33

running intel burn test, will post pic as soon as its done

much better. If I remember correctly ambient temps were 25 to 30C. The wide range tells me that perhaps your cpu is not quite flat or your heatsink. Based upon that I would expect load temps in the mid 50C. The i7 runs a bit hotter so it can comfortably run up to 70C. Looks like you have some good head room for overclocking.

should I bother reinstalling or are those temps ok?

and btw, my cpu fan is only running at 50%

I am at work right now, but when I ran intel burn test in the morning - it said the cpu is unstable with high and very high settings, but worked successfully on standard

- I got temp readings 57 to 62 range. 100% load.

i'll post pics as soon as I get home

ntel burn test standard, 8 threads, 20 runs.

If your cpu was at 4GHz I'd say you are good to go. But at 2.78GHz your cpu is running hotter than it should.
