Right, thanks for the help on the mobo selection Yamikotai and Slaymate on my previous thread.

Hee is what I have for my build so far, what do you think?

MOBO:
EVGA X58
132-BL-E758-A1 - EVGA X58 3X SLI, iX58, Sok 1366, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), Triple DDR3 1066/ 1333, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX - Scan.co.uk

CPU:
Intel i7 920
BX80601920 - Intel i7 920, D0 SLBEJ S1366, Nehalem, 2.66 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail - Scan.co.uk

Memory:
ok, so I'm stuck here as to which one to choose, there is the dominator 1600Mhz with a 7-7-7-20 latency
TR3X6G1600C7D - 6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3, PC3-12800 (1600), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 7-7-7-20 - Scan.co.uk

or the Dominator 1866Mhz with a 9-9-9-24 latency at only £20 more and comes with a fan too.
TR3X6G1866C9DF - 6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator, Triple DDR3 PC3- (1866), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9, DHX, XMP - Scan.co.uk

or are there better ones to choose from (in terms of performance) around the same price.

GPU:
Stuck here again, don;t know if I should get a GTX-295 single card or cheaper models in Sli...what is the best choice? oh and which company should I choose from?

Soundcard:
X-Fi titanium
70SB088600000 - Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional - Scan.co.uk

Power Supply:
Corsair HX 850W - have a corsair HX 620W and its doign good for me but I'm not sure if this is the right one to have for my PC or not and wether 850W is too much.

CMPSU-850HXUK - 850W Corsair 850HX PSU, ATX, EPS12V, Modular, UK Version - Scan.co.uk

Hard Drive:

solid state hard drive good for a primary drive or should I not bother?

Oh and whats a really really good CPU cooler nowadays? I currently have the tuniq tower for mine but I want something different and not so big, this one is being supported inside my case or it would probably break my mobo if i carried it around. OR SHOULD I GO WATER COOLING? what do you say?

Still looking around for my case atm, not sure what size I want yet, but what can you suggest? got an antec 900 right now and thats been pretty good.

Thanks,
Aidin

these would be good too
TR3X6G1600C7 - 6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3, PC3-12800 (1600), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 7-7-7-20 1T - Scan.co.uk

for the gpu, it depends on your needs and how much you're willing to spend.

are planning to reuse your sound card? or get a new one? the onboard sound should be good enough.

your corsair 620w would work with a single card, i dunno about using it for sli or crossfire though.

for a case, again it depends on how much your looking to spend. could reuse your case if you wanted to. these are some good low cost ones
THREE-HUNDRED EU - Antec Three Hundred Black Midi Tower Case w/o PSU - Scan.co.uk
RC-690 / CM 690 - Coolermaster CM-690 V2 Dominator Black Midi Tower Case with Mesh Top Panel w/o PSU - Scan.co.uk

other good ones
SGC-2000-KKN1-GP - Coolermaster Storm Scout Mid Tower Black Case w/o PSU (Gaming) - Scan.co.uk
Coolermaster HAF932 Black, High Air Flow Tower Case w/o PSU (New Version) - Scan.co.uk
Lian-Li PC60F Aluminium Black Midi Tower Case Without PSU - Scan.co.uk

well money is not a big big issue here, just want some very good performance. DO I get better out of SLi or single 295? I'm not reusing anything out of my current PC, I'll be doing a few things with it. I like my soundcards and do quite a few things with sound so thats the reason for the soundcard.

Those last 3 cases are the same ones I thought about. They look and seem good. :) I'll stick with the dominator series between the 2 memory at 1600Mhz. I'm wodering if the 1866Mhz is better nor not really.

ok well what res are you going to be playing at?

but most likely you will be wanting two GTX 285's or a single GTX 295

I'll be playing at about 1920x1200

and my question was of the 2 RAM which is better? or are there better ones around that price in terms of performance?

I'll think about the RAM but I think I'll still get the Corsair one though :p like em....

2 285's beat the 295 then?

also....need a good quality CPU cooler as mentioned in my first post ^^...what can you suggest?

and should I go watercooling or not?

I'll only recommend water-cooling if you consider yourself an experienced builder. It's not like you can't add water-cooling later, when your more experienced and you've studied on the subject some more.

Newegg isn't the best place to buy a cpu heatsink. The Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme is my personal favorite, but it requires the base to be lapped in order to perform up to expectations.

Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme-1366 RT Rev. B CPU Heatsink (Socket LGA 1366) - FrozenCPU.com

FrozenCPU Deluxe Heatsink Lapping Kit - FrozenCPU.com

These next 2 heatsinks are both very good also :D

Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Heat Sink (Socket LGA 1366) - FrozenCPU.com

This heatsink doesn't come with a fan so you'll need to buy one.

Prolimatech Megahalems Intel CPU Heatsink (LGA 775 / 1366) (AM2** / AM2+** / AM3**) - FrozenCPU.com

This is a good adjustable speed fan.
SilverStone FM123 120x120x25mm w/ Fan Controller - (FN123) - FrozenCPU.com

This fan is cheaper and it blows alot of air, but it's larger and noisier.

Scythe Ultra Kaze 120 x 38mm Fan - 3000 RPM (DFS123812H-3000) - FrozenCPU.com

If I was you, I would order the Prolimatech and the Silverstone fan :D

And you'll need Thermal Paste, get this :D

Tuniq TX-2 High Performance Thermal Grease - 3.5g - FrozenCPU.com
