Fan blows hard on vista partition

I have a HP dv4 1220, the fan blows hard when im on the vista partition. When I use the windows 7 partition,the fan blows gently but and I can hear that it is blowing. Thanks in advance! I've had this laptop for about 8 months, and there isn't much dust on it. I always keep it clean and dust free as much as possible.

Run Osiris' spyware guide, and check your resources. Is is using a lot of ram, CPU %?

Hmmmm, could also be the power settings.

Clean the fan. I realize this is simple, but it could definately be the reason. Get a can of air and clean it.
