How you doing iv just built a new computer my first one, and i seem to have run into problems with installing vista. All the connections are right i have a HD drive connected to sata port and a IDE to sata adapter for my DVD drive which connects into another sata port on my motherboard. my motherboard is a ASUS M4N78 PRO. However when I switch the computer on it flashes a green screen to do with the motherboard then goes black and shuts down and restarts in a loop. It said before that sata drive ATAPI incompatible and its the sata port that my CD ROM drive is plugged into and it wont load the disk.
Can anyone help
Thanks

i think the ide to sata adapter might be a problem, or part of it. that mobo has an ide connection, so maybe you could try to connect the dvd drive directly to the mobo with an ide cable.

also have you checked in the bios to make sure that the boot order is set to have the cd drive first?
